Congratulations to Nancy Arnold TARC Election
During its annual meeting held last week in Austin, Texas Association of Regional Councils of Government (TARC) elected Waller Councilmember Nancy Arnold as president-elect for 2022-2023. Nancy sits on the board of Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), where she served as Chairman of the Board in 2020.
Councilmember Arnold will be joined on the Executive Committee by Anderson County Judge Robert Johnson as president. Judge Johnston represents East Texas Council of Government. Caldwell Alderman Kavon Novak, from Brazos Valley Council of Government, was elected vice-president. and Jasper County Judge Mark Allen, Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission, immediate past president.
The Texas Association of Regional Councils (TARC) is the statewide association of regional councils, whose members are focused on enhancing the quality of life through regional strategies, partnerships, and solutions. Texas is divided into 24 regions, each served by a voluntary organization of local governmental entities that coordinate programs and services to address needs that cross jurisdictional boundaries.
In addition to its annual Board meeting, the association held training throughout the week for elected officials, executive directors, and program staff representing the councils of governments across the state.
Nancy looks forward to serving the region and the state, and views this as another opportunity to promote the City of Waller. "We're a growing community, with a lot to offer new residents and new businesses. I like promoting Waller and telling our story!"
