Jason Tones
Mayor Pro Tem Tones and his wife of 25 years Kathryn have been a part of our wonderful city and have made it their home for the past 24 years. Together they are the parents of three children: Karlie, Keith and Mary and one granddaughter, Aubrie. Mr. Tones and his family are members of Pine Island Baptist Church, where he is active member for 11 years. Mr. Tones looks forward to always serving his community and is involved in several organizations. He is currently the liaison for the city with the Waller Police Department where he has done several ride a longs and helped facilitate wonderful new things for the police department.
Mr. Jason Tones has served as your Council member for Waller City Council for the last 6 years and was appointed by Mayor Marburger to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. The duty of Mayor Pro Tem is presiding over council meetings in the absence of the mayor and may also have the authority to sign official documents and perform other duties typically assigned to the mayor. The specific responsibilities of the Mayor Pro Tem may vary depending on the local government’s charter or ordinances in some jurisdictions, the Mayor Pro Tem may also hold additional responsibilities, such as serving as the liaison between the council and various community organizations or representing the city at official functions and events. This position is designed to ensure that the city’s government can continue to function smoothly in the absence of the mayor. As Mayor Pro Tem he looks forward to serving the citizens of Waller as a council member and police liaison for the city on a daily basis to help make this community a wonderful safe place to live and play.
